Our Mission
To provide critical and life-changing support to the neediest and most vulnerable populations worldwide, with a primary focus on rural African communities. We deliver essential resources and holistic empowerment—spiritually, psychologically, and physically—to improve living conditions, restore dignity, and foster self-sufficiency.
OUR VISION
To establish an affordable regional medical system dedicated to serving the needy and vulnerable, with an emphasis on rural areas. Our core strategy is to prioritize preventive medicine over reactive treatment. We will provide high-quality treatment when necessary, including a specialization in advanced wound care and the prevention of wounds that can lead to fatality or amputation.

One of their passion and past time. The foundation of Everlasting Hope-USA is built upon the incredible love and commitment that Gary Scherer showed towards humanity.
Gary carried a powerful vision: to spread the gospel of love by providing free medical outreach and Camps in Western Kenya. When he first received this ambitious calling, he was initially hesitant to step out of his comfort zone in Encinitas, USA. However, one transformative trip to Kenya in 2007 changed his life forever. Since that defining moment, Gary dedicated himself to tirelessly leading free medical camps across the entire nation of Kenya.
His ultimate dream was to establish a subsidized, sustainable medical delivery system within the country, specializing in preventive and rural medicine.
His unwavering dedication to this mission was deeply evident; even as his age began to catch up with him, he continued to fly over 12,000 miles repeatedly to demonstrate selfless love to thousands of strangers. All we can truly say is that we loved Gary, Gary loved us, but God loved him most.
We also continue to hold Lesley Scherer, his loving wife and devoted partner in arms, in our prayers as she carries forward the gospel of love and service.
Gary went to rest with God on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025. His enduring dream of providing compassionate medical care and preventive medicine to underserved communities lives on through this organization he inspired.

George Orwa, CEO.
George Orwa is the CEO for Everlasting Hope--USA. George embodies the transformative power of education and the spirit of perseverance against overwhelming odds. Orphaned and homeless in Kisumu, Kenya, his childhood was defined by a daily struggle for survival. Yet, a relentless hunger for knowledge—particularly in science, math, and engineering—fueled a lifelong quest.
Unable to afford school, George became self-taught, studying borrowed books under streetlights. His academic path was deeply inspired by the memory of losing his uncle to HIV/AIDS, driving his dedication to medicine, research, and drug development.
Through sheer determination, George became the first in his family to graduate high school. While supporting his wife and three children, he worked full-time nights and attended classes full-time days, successfully earning a Bachelor's degree in Biomanufacturing and a Master's degree in Biotechnology (PSMBt program). Today, George applies his expertise in the Life Science industry as a Process Scientist. Fulfilling his commitment to education, he teaches part-time at a local community college, passing down his passion and mentoring future generations of scientists.
Beyond his academic success, George is the Founder and Director of the non-profit organization, Everlasting Hope-USA. This organization is driven by his ultimate vision:

Victor Bambao, Member.
Born and raised in Orange County, California, Victor Bambao's deep commitment to charity and helping those in need is rooted in his Filipino heritage.
A highly capable Process Scientist, Victor dedicates much of his free time to playing golf for charitable causes, with the goal of making the world a better place through the Gospel of Love.
He is one of the founding advisors for Everlasting Hope--USA and is a key organizing member of the organization's charity golf tournament. Victor is deeply involved in all aspects of the event; when he's not securing sponsorships for the raffle, he is actively mobilizing his professional and personal network to play golf for a cause that embodies their shared mission of love and compassion.
Jimmy Okech, Secretary.
From a young age Jimmy had always believed that one must work hard and dedicate to a purpose, dedicate themselves to a giving back to the community.
As a child, Jimmy walked all the time to school between sugar plantations, half the time not knowing if you will make it to school in time or even have food at home but he never stopped and kept on walking that road believing that there will be light at the end of that tunnel if you work hard for it.
Through hard work and determination Jimmy focused on developing skills in computer programming and eventually concentrating his interest on creating connections through web development, finally completing his Bachelors with a Masters of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, Boston University-USA. We can apply our efforts and talents in different ways such as donating to a purpose or even providing space, providing a service, in every way that we believe that our communities can benefit from.
Please join us in giving a helping hand to EHU mission as was started by George Orwa, by giving back to the very people that need it the most and by ultimately supporting efforts that moves us forward. Jimmy always believed in finding a common goal as a sign of determination. If we give it our best and put our strengths and resources together, we will succeed and we shall deliver in many blessed ways with George and with EHU. Believe in hope even when it seems so thin.
